Canadian Puppet Show for Adults
I found this hilarious puppet lady from Canada. I found her through a search for a gift for a sassy and sweary cross stitching friend of mine. She's made a bunch of funny mugs for different occasions, but all based around sayings from her Adult puppet Youtube channel.
So after stumbling onto the gift mugs, it led me to her Patreon page, where she keeps some blogs about work life for anyone to read. THIS is where I found the cross stitch reference, as she also makes funny and sassy cross stitch patterns and takes pics of them on her blog. But there are also secret blog entries from the Canadian puppeteer only available to those who are supporting the page. (And there are all sorts of benefits that she lists when you support her puppet show - one of which involves getting a funny mug for free.)
AT this point, she's got two years of comedy videos with her puppet show, mostly centred on the challenges of customer service that customer service reps just can't talk about in public - ranting about customers who are less than wonderful, the challenges of the job itself and everything associated with retail work life. But, she also dives into the things that drive her crazy about her room mates, house keeping, and life in general.
She's gathered a bunch of other characters into the Youtube puppet theatre show - Angus, who is also a badly behaved garden gnome; Roberta, a raccoon who makes dainty dishes for her babies out of the compost; the Chipmunk who gets loose in local restaurants and stores and makes messes; George (a puppet from Silly Puppets company) who is her camera shy boyfriend... the list of her puppet pals are growing all the time.
After a while, while watching Lillah (The main character in her puppet videos, pronounced like "Lily with an aaahhhhh") you forget that you are watching a hand puppet! She simply becomes the person telling the stories that she's swearing about. (and oh yes, there are swears. So, hide your kids. This one is for grown ups only.)
IN the end, I bought the mug that said "Maybe swearing will help" with a cross stitched heart for my friend, but I also hit the subscribe button on the Youtube channel that this Canadian lady runs. Because we've all felt the pain of something stupid going down in our over the counter customer service jobs, and having to stay quiet for fear of losing our jobs.
Somehow this woman has no fear, and I like that.
